Lab results online

Once you have registered on the Patient Portal, MyIndici, you will be able to see your lab test results online after they have been reviewed by your clinician. Please allow 5 working days. All results from the most recent to past tests, letters and reports from specialists and clinic visits are also available.

Access your lab test results online

All  blood tests and other laboratory results are reported to the  clinic and our doctors review them. If there are any abnormal results, anything causing  concern or requiring further investigation or discussion they will ring you.  If all results are normal you will not hear from us. If you do have further questions  about the interpretation of your online lab results you can contact one of our friendly practice nurses.

You will be able to view all your lab test results online, by logging into  MyIndici, our Patient Portal and going to Results/Reports.

It is free for all patients and you can also use it on your phone by downloading the app.

Letters and reports from Specialists

 
The Patient Portal can also be used to read letters and reports from any specialist appointments you have attended or hospital or clinic visits.

We will phone or text you if we need to discuss or interpret any lab results or any treatment required following a specialist visit.

However, please call us if you have any questions, do not understand something,  or require an interpretation of lab results. We are happy to listen and explain.

Remember online lab test results that we have not contacted you about are normal.

What do my test results mean?

Normal results 

The values for blood tests or the report if it is a swab, x-ray or scan fit within the expected ranges for normal healthy people. No further action is required.

Satisfactory results

Results filed as satisfactory may be above or below normal values for blood tests or in the case of scans and x-rays have very slight variations in how things should look. However, in the context of the overall clinical picture they can be regarded as normal. Satisfactory results do not require further tests or discussion.

Repeat test required 

Sometimes it is recommended to repeat a test, reasons for this include laboratory equipment failure, an unsuitable sample, or a suspicion that the test result is incorrect. At other times a repeat sample is required to see whether this was just a one-off abnormal test or an ongoing trend. 

Discuss with a GP

Your results are back and one of our clinicians have decided that it is best for you to discuss the results. This does not necessarily mean that there is something to worry about; it may mean that the clinician who requested your tests in the first place wants to see you. It may mean that there are further tests that could be useful, or it may mean that the tests have found the cause of your problem. 

We usually communicate this by sending you a text message asking you to book a non-urgent GP appointment. 

Requested by an external provider or another clinic

We sometimes receive copies of results arranged by external clinicians, for example, if you visit a hospital clinic or get seen in an Urgent Care Clinic. We generally do not interpret results arranged by external clinicians. It is important that you follow up with the requesting clinician if you have questions regarding these results.

Frequently asked questions

To join our clinic, you first need to fill out the patient enrolment forms to register with the PHO that we belong to. This is a Ministry of Health requirement.

You will need to provide proof of identity and eligibility which may include the following forms of identification:

  • NZ Passport or NZ birth certificate
  • International passport with resident visa OR work visa of minimum 24-month duration

On the enrolment form you need to indicate which of our doctors (currently taking new patients) that you would like to be registered with.

Yes. As part of completing your enrollment, we request that you have a new patient screening appointment with one of our Nursing or Medical Centre Assistant team members.

This new patient appointment enables our team to work with you to better understand your current health and wellbeing.

Following the new patient appointment as above, you can book your first consultation with your nominated doctor.

All GP appointments are 15 minutes long.

  • One appointment is for a single health issue.
  • Should you wish to have a 30-minute GP appointment, it will be charge at a non-subsidized rate.
  • Depending on your age and health, one of our specialist nursing or pharmacist clinicians may be able to spend more time with you.

If you are a new patient, you will get full access to the patient portal “My Indici” once you have completed your enrolment.

Payment is required at time of consultation. Please note that unpaid accounts will incur an additional $10 monthly administration cost.

There may be additional costs for treatments/tests/materials

We recommend that you book your future appointments via your patient portal My Indici.

If you need an urgent appointment, then please phone the clinic. We have doctors available to discuss your urgent health needs on the day.

Patient portals are secure online sites where patients can access their health information and interact with their general practice. Set up access to your patient portal at http://www.botanyjunctionmedical.co.nz/patient-portal/ or email info@bjdocs.co.nz if you would like help.

We recommend that you plan ahead and request your repeat medicines via your patient portal My Indici two weeks before you run out. If you do not have access to a portal, you can phone us and leave a message with the nurse to organise this. Our doctors use an electronic prescribing system which can send your prescription to your local pharmacy (please specify name and location).

The results of tests that have been ordered by our Doctors will be available on My Indici when they have been reviewed. If your test results are of concern you will be contacted by one of our team.

We understand that things can change on the day, but we ask that you call us to advise that you are not able to make your appointment. If we do not hear from you minimum 2 hours prior to your scheduled time, you will receive an invoice for this missed appointment.
